The complexities of patients and endoscopic procedures is ever increasing. Appropriate and adequate sedation is crucial for patient comfort, procedural success, safety and training. This one-day symposium aims to explore all aspects of sedation in endoscopy, and will involve faculty from UK and Europe. This is a popular annual conference, last year selling out of spaces. Early booking is advised.
Symposium Objectives:
1) Review different sedation options/protocols and sedation monitoring requirements in endoscopy
2) Explore the barriers and facilitators for propofol assisted endoscopy in UK, and to understand the European experience in deep sedation
3) Discuss new sedation techniques (use of High flow oxygen/capnography with standard sedation)
4) Discuss newer drugs in sedation (Remimazolam)
5) Recognition and management of sedation-related complications
